Pastor: Darran Dowey

The following items should help you understand our church's basis of Faith.
We believe these truths summarise the essential beliefs held by all true Christians in all
places and at all times.

We believe:

In the Sovereignty of God in Redemption, Creation, Revelation and Final Judgment (Colossians 1: 12-20)

The full inspiration of the Holy Scriptures, their authority and sufficiency as not only containing
but being in themselves the Word of God. (2 Timothy 3:15-17)

In one God eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit; that to each belongs to
the same divine perfection; co-equal and co-eternal. (John 17:21; Matthew 3: 15-17; 2 Corinthians 13:14)<

In Jesus Christ; conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary; that He is very God and very man
(Matthew 16:16; Luke 1:26-35). When he was crucified he offered Himself as the representative
and substitutionary sacrifice for the sin of the whole world (2 Corinthians 5:15-2l; Hebrew 2:14.).
All who repent and believe in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood (Romans 3:24-26.)
and they constitute His church. His body was raised according to the Scriptures ( 1 Corinthians 15:3-8.)
and He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of the throne of God as our High Priest and Advocate

The justification of the sinner freely by grace through faith alone in the Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 3:24-26)

In the Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 1:6-13). That His return to the earth will be visible
and personal in the manner in which He went, and all true believers will be caught up with him forever

In the Holy Spirit, the Lord and Giver of Life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, He is the Author
and Inspirer of the Old and New Testaments and He lives in every believer (Ephesians 1:13; Romans 8:9)

That man, although made in the image of God, has sinned and thereby incurred both physical and spiritual
death (Isaiah 53:6; John 3:36) and therefore needs the regenerating work of the Holy Spirit to make the
death of Christ effective to the individual sinner, granting him repentance towards God and faith in
Jesus Christ (John 3:3-8: 16:7-11) in order that he may enter the Kingdom of God

That the fruits of new birth must be evident in the believers daily life (Ephesians 5:8-11) and that
the children of God should be holy and separate from the world as the scriptures define (2 Corinthians 6:17);
that sin in our lives should be opposed by trusting in the preserving power of the Lord Jesus Christ
and that growth in grace should be actively sought with His all-sufficient help (James 4:7-10)

In the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust; the eternal blessedness of the redeemed in Christ
and the eternal punishment of those who have ignored or rejected the offer of salvation (Matthew 25:46)

The purpose of the church

We believe the aims of our church should be to mirror the life of the early Church, particularly as
declared in Acts 2:42:

"And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread,
and in prayers"

and Matthew 28:18-20

"And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, 'All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father, and of the Son,
and of the Holy Ghost: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and,
lo I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world'. Amen"

We therefore conclude that our duty and reasonable service as a fellowship is to:

To worship God (Acts 2:42)

To base all our doctrine and belief on Scripture (2 Tim.3:16-17)

To administer the sacraments of Baptism and the Lord's Supper (Matthew 28:19-20)

To evangelise (Matthew 28:19-20) beginning locally, but also with a national and international vision (Acts 1:8)

To build up our members (Ephesians 4:11-16)

To instruct new converts (Matthew 28:19-20)

To show the compassion of Christ to all men (1 John 3:16-18)
